Zeke came to us because their family had a new baby. We noticed that he seemed smaller than expected, even though his family said he was 3 years old.
Turns out, the family was feeding them in a way that was not good for their health, making the Chinchillas both a bit undernourished. This also caused fights over food. Now Zeke must live alone as he's food-possessive and afraid of other chinchillas.
This does not mean he's a bad chinchilla or undeserving of a loving home, but it does mean some past trauma cannot be fixed and he must be kept separate from others.
