Tiskit

Tiskit is one of a group of Guinea pigs that were found discarded in a picnic basket in the parking lot of a local firehouse. Tiskit and his litter mates were very lucky that an alert animal lover spotted the basket and brought it to our shelter. He is a gorgeous Guinea pig with a striking coat of white, black and cinnamon. He loves to scurry around his shelter, running from his drinking bottle, to his food bowl to his little house. Piggies can live up to 7 yrs, they love to have space to run around and play. They require unbroken floor space; they are not climbing critters! Depending on their personality, one guinea pig may enjoy being cuddled immediately, while another may take a few months before it enjoys any human interaction. Some may only enjoy being pet... If you have more than one; they love to "talk" to each other. It's good to give them a safe "hiding place" along with the room to roam in a large cage. Piggies should have fresh, washed leafy greens each day, such as kale or broccoli, which are excellent sources of Vitamin C. They don't naturally eat fruit or root vegetables, but you can give them in small amounts as treats, such as small pieces of carrot or an apple quarter. They make fun, entertaining and lovable pets!
