My Story

Meet Skipper. Skipper is black with a white belly and born 5-28-23. He was adopted but returned due to no fault of his own. One of the mates he was adopted with was a fear biter and that caused everyone to come back to the rescue. Skipper is in a large cage with other rat friends so he is not a solitary rat, and if adopted by himself he must go to a home with other rats and a person comfortable with introducing adult male rats to each other. Most of his current cage mates are elderly with health issues, however. We are in the process of trying to introduce younger rats into this group. He is initially shy with new people, but with patience and time he warms up. He takes treats gently and likes to explore. Proof of an adequate enclosure is required: with solid floors and shelves, appropriate bar spacing, and enough room to climb, explore and provide enrichment opportunities. 4 cubic feet or more per rat is optimal. The adoption fee for Skipper $20.00
