My Story

This is our young rat group. Rae, Scout, Baby Blue, and Marble. 9 month old Rae is missing her lip, but it doesn't stop her from eating and drinking and just makes her extra unique. Rae is not scared but is shy. Note from the original rescue " X-ray had dozens of bite marks/gashes all over her from what looked to be attacked by other rats. I can send you pics! And her leg and hip was swollen she couldn’t walk on them. We were advised to give her meds and if it didn’t get better to remove her leg and hip. But the meds worked and her leg is doing great! She almost looks like a normal Rattie! I didn’t bond her with other rats after we had to put her buddies down as I wasn’t sure how the others up for adoption would react so I put her with my kids. My ratties are used to meeting ratties and will accept any Rattie into the group! She’s very sweet but is still shy. I don’t blame her she’s been through so much! She tends to cuddle with everyone in the group. " 8 month old Scout has a ripped ear, adding character to her when she would otherwise be considered plain. Scout is also a rescue, favorite. She has the best personality of all of the rats. She's DESPERATE to be with the humans and will seek you out. She doesn't run away and will come right into your arms. She originated from the same breeder as the two below. 6 month old Marble and Blue are sisters. They could benefit from some love and care with handling so they're more comfortable. They're both friendly and curious. This quad is currently adoptable TOGETHER as rats are happiest in groups and are not commonly found in our area bred & raised as pets. We do not break up our adoptable groups. The fee for this group is $30.00, you must provide your own enclosure. Please apply via our website www.califidparrotandexotic.com and discuss cage/supply requirements with our volunteers. These rats were transferred to our organization about a month ago, as the rescue group they were previously in has shut down for the foreseeable future. We were asked to find these rats (a total of 10 ) in a home. All these rats have lived peacefully together in a mischief ( group ). Any males had been neutered previously, and the females were not pregnant.
