My Story

Name: Piglet and Paulo Age: Adult DOB: 2/7/2023 (estimation) Species: Guinea Pig Weight: 3 pounds Gender: Male Breed: Guinea Pigs Coat Length: Short Color: Various Colors Child friendly: Yes: older, pet-savvy and respectful children Temperament: Loving, sweet Energy Level: Moderate Adoption Fee: $20+tax (fee includes both guinea pigs together) To adopt, go to: www.mendingspirits.org/apply-to-adopt.html From the Foster Family: Piglet and Paulo came to the rescue after they were observed being tossed on the side of the road in a broken tote. Piglet was in very rough shape when he was saved, and needed some rehabilitation and medical intervention. He was incredibly malnourished and weighed only 1.7 lbs. He has a permanent head tilt, which doesn't bother him. However, because of his previous malnourishment, he is incredibly food-driven and can sometimes be disoriented due to his head tilt. Due to this, a home with small handsy children with "little carrot fingers" may not be best. Piglet is unusually outgoing and enjoys lots of attention, while Paulo is more reserved and quiet. However, they both make strong and mighty wheek wheeks every time they hear a crinkled bag in the kitchen or when it's time for their supper. Piglet will let you know exactly when he's hungry. They are emotionally ready for the next chapter of their life and have a long list of desired fruits, veggies, and herbs. They love to take their vitamins and small treats by hand several times a day. They love to lay on handmade fleece blankets & get very excited about any food. About Me: Hi everyone! Thank you for reading about us! We are sweet boys who are looking for our forever family where we can stay together. My foster mom has a whole meal plan written out and keeps track of everything we have ever tried. She likes to pretend she's our personal chef when she serves us our meals. If you have any questions about guinea pig care, she would be willing to help guide you. She is specifically looking for a family who can provide ethical enclosure space, a varied diet, and consistency with attention. She is here to support you and share her love of guinea pigs with anyone considering us or has questions.
