Phoenix and Onyx

Phoenix and Onyx are a bonded pair of male guinea pigs estimated to have been born in January 2020. Due to Phoenix's permanent airway damage (cause unknown), the boys are considered a special needs adoption and will require a family that is guinea pig savvy. These handsome fells as SO friendly and have been handled a lot. They enjoy cuddling with humans and are HUGE snack lovers! These boys would be a great for for a family that will hang out with them frequently. Although they love spending time with each other, they also like their own areas of the cage. Because of this they need a large grid enclosure. They love snuggle sacs and soft beds to sprawl out in, so they're hoping their forever home will have plenty for them! For Phoenix's chronic airway issues, he will need a family to make sure that he is thriving despite this chronic issue. For now there is no daily medical care needed, just keeping an extra close eye on him and his weight. We did a preventative tooth trim a few weeks back to see if it was any tooth issue causing his issue, but it wasn't. The veterinary team is sure he will live a happy life when the perfect family comes along. Some other things he needs are being housed on fleece bedding and orchard grass hay (which is less dusty and helps with keeping Phoenix's sneezing down). He does okay with timothy hay, but we have to shake it out a lot to get the hay dust out before giving it to him. Phoenix and Onyx's adoption fee is $35.
