My Story

?? Meet Noodle and Fettuccine the Female Degus - Seeking a Forever Home! ?? Hello everyone! We are Noodle and Fettuccine, two adorable female degus looking for a loving new home together. ? We came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue and are now ready to find a new family who will appreciate our playful and curious nature. Adoption Details: If you're interested in adopting Noodle and Fettuccine, please fill out an adoption application on our website here: https://www.jraar.org/adoption and let’s find us a perfect new home! Care Tips for Degus: ? Habitat: Provide us with a spacious cage, at least 36 x 18 x 24 inches, with multiple levels for climbing and exploring. Wire cages with a solid bottom are ideal. Include plenty of bedding, like aspen shavings or paper-based bedding, for burrowing and nesting. ?? Temperature: Keep our habitat in a room with a stable temperature between 65-75°F, away from direct sunlight and drafts. We are sensitive to extreme temperatures. ?? Diet: Our diet should consist of high-quality degu pellets or a mix of chinchilla and guinea pig food. Supplement with hay, and occasional treats like small amounts of nuts or seeds. Avoid sugary foods as we are prone to diabetes. ? Hydration: Ensure we always have access to fresh water. Use a water bottle with a sipper tube attached to the cage to keep the water clean. ? Exercise: Provide plenty of opportunities for exercise with wheels, tunnels, and toys. We love to climb and explore, so make sure our cage is enriched with various activities. ? Cleanliness: Clean our cage weekly, removing soiled bedding and uneaten food. Disinfect the cage and accessories regularly to maintain a hygienic environment. ?? Handling and Socialization: We are friendly and enjoy interacting with humans. Handle us gently and regularly to maintain our tame nature. Always support our bodies and avoid sudden movements to prevent stress. ?? Hideouts: Provide hideouts or small houses where we can retreat and feel safe. These can be wooden or plastic and filled with nesting material. ? Companionship: Degus are social animals and thrive in pairs or groups. We are happy to have each other for companionship, which helps keep us healthy and happy. Let's find Noodle and Fettuccine the perfect forever home where we'll be cherished and well-cared for! ?? #AdoptDontShop #RescueDegus #DeguLove
