Mater and McQueen

Mater and McQueen were rescued from an overfull shelter where they were at risk of euthanasia! They had been surrendered by their owner after 3 years, so we estimate them to be just over 3yrs old. They are both total sweethearts, and some of the friendliest chins that have ever come through the rescue! Mater is a BIG guy, and we tell him apart from McQueen by his Chonkiness. McQueen on the other hand, being lighter, is FAST! He loves to do zoomies around their enclosure, taking advantage of every ledge and level to launch himself! They are a hilarious duo, and very well bonded together. Unlike some chinchillas, these two are happy to spend time snuggling with humans, and they are both easily handleable by their foster, especially for dust bath time! They are, of course, huge fans of their dust bath and are always excited when they know it’s time. It really goes to show how insanely smart they are too! McQueen is an inquisitive guy and will hop out of any open door to explore with no hesitation (aka escape artist!!), meanwhile Mater takes it a little slower and consequently needs a few days to get to know and trust humans before playtime. Both of these chins are wonderful to have in the rescue due to their outgoing nature! This pair even attended a public adoption event in early February, where they excelled and stole many hearts with their curiosity and cute noses. Mater and McQueen would be great beginner or experienced home chins.
