Mario

Meet Mario, an approx. 4.5 year old chinchilla. He's a little on the chonky side, but we are working on trimming him down. His future home will need to keep him on a fairly strict diet. He loves to be out of his cage to run around but be aware to triple check for place he can crawl into cause he will find them. He loves to find places to hide, and he particularly likes his foster's little cubby hole behind her stand mixer. When he gets tired, he just goes and tucks himself in there and takes a nap! He likes to bond, but on his own terms. He loves to run and bounce off the walls, so a place to run with a long wall to run and bounce would be great for him. Give him a tunnel to hide in and run through and you will have a happy chinchilla. He also loves his bath time, as soon as it goes on the floor he jumps right in to dig around and spin. He can be a picky little guy when it comes to his hay, so his adopter will have to ensure to have his teeth examined on a regular basis. Nothing phases Mario! He currently lives in a fairly busy and noisy household, and he is doing well. Mario was adopted and then returned to rescue last year, through absolutely no fault of his own. He does have some chronic dryness and mild pododermatitis on the bottoms of his feet, which will likely require treatment with a moisturizer or medicated spray on and off for the rest of his life. An experienced chinchilla owner is a must, as is fleece bedding changed on a regular basis to prevent further irritation to his little feeties. His adoption fee is $80.00.
