I'm a bit shy but once I get to know you, we'll be the best of friends. I have two friends here, Devil Went Down to Georgia and Stairway to Heaven, but I'm always open to making more. I'm quite smart and independent, which means I don't require constant attention. I enjoy a good nap in my hammock after a day of exploring. Adopting me would mean bringing home a friend who is gentle, smart, and independent. I'm not just a pet, I could be your companion, your confidante, your friend. ________________________________________________________________________________ Notes from his foster: Knocking on Heaven's Door is the most outgoing of the group, he jumps up on her lap for treats and was the first to do this. He doesn’t like to be touched although his foster is slowly introducing light strokes on his side. He likes to explore the area when out for playtime and plays with others. Estimated birth date: 1/16/23 Personality: Dignified, Friendly toward humans, Hesitant, Quiet Favorite treats: Cheerios & oatmeal Current Diet: Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat Food Favorite toys and activities: Knocking on Heaven's Door likes sleeping in his hammock. Potty trained: We're working on it! This animal’s daily routine: In the morning, his fosters fill up his water bottle and food bowl. They pet and play with him for a while. In the afternoon, he and his friends get some play time, and food gets topped off if needed. None Health concerns: Knocking on Heaven's Door has recently recovered from a URI and recurrence is being monitored for. Behavioral concerns: Knocking on Heaven's Door is working on trust training.. He is nervous and has little exposure to people in the past. He does not bite and is getting more comfortable with humans. He needs some more time to learn we are friendly. His foster gives him treats from their hands and talks to him. They are working on getting him to go into their hands willingly. This animal's foster parent prefers to meet at the PetSmart - 18050 Zane St NW, Elk River, MN 55330 for meet & greets, & adoptions.
