My Story

Meet Homer & Bart These handsome boys are two of 38 guinea pigs rescued from the most horrific hoarding case that we have seen. Many did not survive, so when we say they are among the lucky ones, we mean it. Because of the sheer number of animals seized from the home, these 38 were rescued and transported to Southern California. Of the 38, 20 were female, and they were all transferred to the Los Angeles Guinea Pig Rescue. The remaining boys, including Alvin have been fostered by piggy hero Ann, in her loving home. When all of these guinea pigs were rescued, they were very thin, dirty, had long curling nails and needed a LOT of TLC. Ann and her family have provided such wonderful care to the boys and we feel that they are not ready for their forever homes. Both boys are approximately 8-12 months old They currently live as a bonded pair. We think they would do well in an ADULT only home, or home with only gentle older kids/teens. The ideal home has to understand that these pigs have been through ALOT. They are shy and JUST now learning how to be cared for properly. Take a look at the video below to understand what they lived in. If you can open your heart and home and can vow to cherish and care for him for the rest of his life, please contact us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56g0xyas1Vw&t=407s
