-Daphne came to us with five other chinchillas that had been owner surrendered to another shelter. She was kept separate and listed as a single male but she is a girl! She’s timid at first and takes a little bit of time to get used to you but she is very sweet. She is fine with being petted but not a huge fan of being picked up. We’d love to find her some new girl chins to be friends with! Chinchillas can live 20 years with proper care! We do not recommend chinchillas for children as they do not make good pets for children under 12. They require a specialized habitat with multiple levels, specific food, and regular grooming care.
