My Story

Coffee and Cake are a pair of 4 year old guinea pigs. They were relinquished children's pets but you can tell they were well-loved at home because Coffee is so social and sweet! Cake is a doll too but she would rather have a snack and watch from a distance, Coffee has gained a reputation at Lost Woods for letting everybody give her little pets on the head, and for standing up and squeaking at you to say hello! Coffee is prone to urinary sludge, so she needs a diet that is lower in calcium and nitrates. A good diet for a urinary pig includes romaine, greenleaf lettuce, redleaf lettuce, and a bit of endive for greens. Good veggies are bell pepper and cucumber. Occasional pieces of cilantro or parsley are fine but rich dark greens high in calcium and minerals (i.e. kale, spinach, collards) should be avoided. Home-grown greens are also found to have less nitrates which helps with urinary sludges.https://www.lostwoodsas.com/adoption-application
