My Story

Meet Adam! He is 10 months old. He is hand friendly. He would love to go home with a companion rat. He is very intelligent and are able to be taught a various amount of tricks. For our friend Adam, he needs a rat-experienced home due to the occasional bite & him no longer liking being friends with the other rats so he will need person to socialize with him. Your rat's diet should consist mainly of high-quality, pelleted rat food, which can be available to them all day. You can also offer bite-sized bits of fresh fruit and vegetables daily, such as peas, broccoli, carrots, apples, and bananas. Rats are very social creatures and should be kept in groups of at least 2. Rats need a cage with a minimum of 2.5 cubic feet, with wire siding, ramps, and platforms they can climb on, with enough room for their food, water, toys, and hiding spots. Rats are very intelligent creatures and need toys, puzzles, tunnels, and other enrichment to keep them mentally stimulated. Our shelter is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12-4 (closed Mondays).
