My Story

?? Meet Viper the Bearded Dragon - Seeking a Forever Home! ?? Hello everyone! I’m Viper, a 1.5-year-old Bearded Dragon looking for a loving new home. ? I came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 5/18/24 at the Exotic Pet Surrender Event in Kimberly, Wisconsin because my owner wasn’t able to take care of me anymore. Adoption Details:  If you're interested in adopting Viper, please fill out an adoption application on our website here: https://www.jraar.org/adoption and let’s find me a perfect new home! Care Tips for Bearded Dragons: ? Habitat: Provide me with a spacious tank, at least 40 gallons, to accommodate my size and ensure I have plenty of room to move around. Include branches, rocks, and other decor to create a stimulating environment. ?? Temperature and Lighting: Maintain a temperature gradient of 75-85°F with a basking spot around 95-100°F. Nighttime temperatures can drop to 70-75°F. Use a UVB light to ensure I get the necessary UV rays for proper bone and overall health. ? Lighting: Bearded Dragons require UVB lighting to synthesize vitamin D3 and properly metabolize calcium. Ensure the light is on for 10-12 hours a day to mimic natural daylight cycles. ?? Diet: Offer a varied diet that includes leafy greens, vegetables, and insects like crickets, dubia roaches, and mealworms. Dust insects with calcium and vitamin supplements to ensure proper nutrition. ?? Handling and Socialization: Handle me gently and regularly to keep me social and friendly. Support my body fully and avoid sudden movements to prevent stress. ? Cleanliness: Clean my enclosure regularly, removing waste and uneaten food. Perform a thorough cleaning and substrate replacement every few months to maintain a healthy environment. ? Enrichment: Enrich my environment with plenty of hiding spots, climbing structures, and naturalistic decor. Providing a varied and stimulating environment will help keep me happy and healthy. ??????? Let's find Viper the perfect forever home where he'll be cherished and well-cared for! ?? #AdoptDontShop #RescueLizard #BeardedDragonLove
