My Story

?? Meet Steve Miller the Leopard Gecko - Looking for a Loving Home! ?? Hello everyone! I’m Steve Miller, a charming Leopard Gecko. I was surrendered at the Exotic Pet Surrender Event in Beloit, WI, because my owner was starting a family. Adoption Details: In lieu of a set adoption fee, J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue asks that a donation be made in my name to help keep the rescue afloat. Your generosity ensures that other animals like me receive the care they need. Interested in adopting Steve Miller? Please fill out an adoption application on our website and let’s find me a perfect new home! About Me: I am a friendly and low-maintenance pet who loves to explore and relax in a cozy environment. Care Tips for Leopard Geckos: ? Housing: Provide me with a 20-gallon tank (minimum) with a secure lid. Ensure my habitat includes hiding spots, climbing branches, and a moist hide for shedding. ?? Temperature & Lighting: Maintain a temperature gradient in my tank: 88-92°F on the warm side and 75-80°F on the cool side. Use a heat mat or ceramic heat emitter. Some say that I don't require UVB lighting, but recent studies show that it has health benefits. ?? Diet: I thrive on a diet of live insects like crickets, mealworms, and dubia roaches. Dust my food with calcium and vitamin D3 supplements to ensure I stay healthy. Fresh water should always be available in a shallow dish. ? Feeding Schedule: Feed me every other day. Juvenile geckos eat more frequently, while adults can eat every 2-3 days. Remove any uneaten insects to keep my habitat clean. ? Cleaning: Spot clean my tank daily and perform a full clean once a month. Remove waste and uneaten food promptly to maintain a healthy environment. ? Handling: I'm generally docile and can be handled gently. Always wash your hands before and after handling me to ensure my safety and hygiene. ? Enrichment: Provide me with climbing structures, hides, and things to explore. Rotate these regularly to keep me engaged and stimulated. Let's find Steve Miller the perfect forever home where he will be cherished and well-cared for! ?? #AdoptDontShop #RescueReptiles #LeopardGeckoLove
