Sammy the African sideneck turtle (more specifically, a West African mud turtle Pelusios castaneus) is a small female aquatic turtle. She loves playing in the bubbles in her tank, and can frequently be found basking on her turtle dock during the day. She eats aquatic turtle pellets and will also eat small fish, crabs, snails, and other wigglies if they are in her environment. She needs a large tank or small pond (50 gallons plus) to be happy in, and filtration and heat regulation. This type of turtle can live up to 50 years, so her new owner must be committed!
