My Story

I'm a boy Australian pink-bellied sideneck turtle (Emydura subglobosa) for adoption near Gambrills, MD. I'm for adoption because I'm being rude to a tank mate, so I should be an only turtle in an enclosure. My shell is 6-7", so I need at least a 55-gallon aquarium or 50-gallon Rubbermaid stock tank to call my own, although larger is good, too. I need a strong filter (external canister or DIY preferred), a basking area, and UVB and heat lights. My care is the same as for a slider, but I'll need the water around 74-77F and I can't hibernate. I eat pellets such as Omega One, Mazuri, and ZooMed Growth, and greens such as leaf lettuce and edible weeds. If interested, please email [email protected] and include your city, state, and "male Pink Belly Sideneck turtle in Gambrills, MD" in the body of the email to request an application. Like turtles but can't have one? You can help by sharing my profile on social media and sharing the MATTS website (www.matts-turtles.org) so keepers and potential pet keepers can learn how to best care for a turtle or tortoise.
