My Story

?? Meet Muffin the Ball Python - Seeking a Forever Home! ?? Hi there! I'm Muffin, a 4-year-old Ball Python in search of a loving new home. ? I was surrendered at the Exotic Pet Expo in Merrill, Wisconsin on 4/20/24 because my previous owners felt it was time for me to find a better home. Now, I'm ready to start a new chapter with a caring family! Adoption Details: There’s no set adoption fee for me, Muffin. Instead, J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue kindly asks that my new family make a donation in my name to help support the rescue. Your generosity ensures that other animals like me receive the care they need. If you're interested in adopting Muffin, please fill out an adoption application on our website here: https://www.jraar.org/adoption and let’s find me a perfect new home! Care Tips for Ball Pythons: ? Habitat: Provide Muffin with a spacious enclosure that includes plenty of hiding spots, such as caves or logs. Maintain a temperature gradient with a warm side at 88-92°F and a cooler side at 75-80°F. Use a reptile-specific thermostat to regulate temperature effectively. ? Hydration: Ensure Muffin has access to clean water at all times. Misting the enclosure occasionally can help maintain appropriate humidity levels between 50-60%. ?? Feeding: Muffin is thriving on a diet of prekilled large mice or small rats. Offer prey items every 7-10 days, and avoid handling him for at least 48 hours after feeding to ensure proper digestion. ? Lighting: Provide a day-night cycle with a 12-hour light and 12-hour dark period. While some say that Ball Pythons don’t require UVB lighting, evidence suggests that maintaining a regular light cycle with UVB helps support their biological rhythm. ?? Handling: Handle Muffin gently and confidently to help him feel secure. Start with short handling sessions and gradually increase the duration as he becomes more accustomed to you. Let's find Muffin the perfect forever home where he'll be cherished and well-cared for! ?? #AdoptDontShop #RescueSnake #BallPythonLove
