My Story

Logan is a suspected female Painted turtle, over 1 year old. Painted turtles can live up to 50 years with proper care, so keep in mind that they can be a part of your family for a long time. Turtles can be a great pet to watch and interact with, though they do not enjoy being handled often. They spend the majority of the time swimming, and the rest of the time eating or basking under their heat lamp. Logan has the best turtle "sploot" when basking. They can learn to recognize their family and are quite curious about new things in their enclosure. Logan is very inquisitive and will sometimes follow her caregivers along her tank wall to say hello. Logan does have MBD, or metabolic bone disease, due to improper care in her past. She will always have a bumpy shell, but seems to get around fine. While MBD cannot be cured, you can prevent it from getting worse by providing proper nutrition and lighting for your turtle. Logan is looking for an exceptional owner who can provide a large aquarium (70 gallon minimum) with a basking platform, proper heat and UVB, and a correct diet of leafy greens and pellets to keep her nice and healthy. While we can offer advice during adoption counselling, please do lots of research before applying! Logan's adoption fee is 25 dollars.
