My Story

?? Meet Our Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish - Seeking a Forever Home! ?? ??????? Hello everyone! I’m a Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish looking for a loving new home. ? I came to J&R Aquatic Animal Rescue on 5/8/24 because my previous owner could no longer take care of me. I'm ready to find a new family who will appreciate my vibrant colors and lively personality. Adoption Details:  If you're interested in adopting this Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish, please fill out an adoption application on our website here: https://www.jraar.org/adoption and let’s find me a perfect new home! Care Tips for Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish: ? Habitat: Provide me with a spacious saltwater tank, at least 20 gallons, to accommodate my active nature. Ensure the tank is well-established and cycled before introducing me to it. A reef setup with live rock, corals, and anemones will make me feel right at home. ?? Temperature and Water Quality: Maintain the water temperature between 75-82°F with a specific gravity of 1.020-1.025. Regularly monitor water parameters to ensure optimal conditions: pH between 8.1-8.4, ammonia and nitrites at 0 ppm, and nitrates below 20 ppm. Perform regular water changes to maintain high water quality. ? Filtration and Flow: Use a high-quality filtration system to keep the water clean and clear. Moderate water flow is ideal for Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish. Consider using a protein skimmer to remove organic waste and keep the water pristine. ?? Diet: Offer a varied diet of high-quality marine flake food, pellets, and frozen foods like brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and chopped seafood. Feed me small amounts 2-3 times a day to ensure proper nutrition. ? Lighting: Provide moderate to high lighting in the tank. If keeping with corals or anemones, ensure the lighting meets their specific requirements. Clownfish are not overly demanding in terms of lighting but benefit from a natural light cycle. ? Tank Mates: I am generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive tank mates. Avoid housing me with overly aggressive species. Suitable tank mates include other clownfish, gobies, blennies, and small reef fish. ? Behavior and Interaction: I am a social fish and enjoy interacting with my environment and other tank mates. I may form a symbiotic relationship with anemones, finding shelter and protection among their tentacles. ? Cleanliness: Regularly clean the tank and remove any uneaten food or debris. Perform routine maintenance, including water changes, filter cleaning, and checking equipment to ensure a healthy environment. Let's find this beautiful Fancy Ocellaris Clownfish the perfect forever home where it will be cherished and well-cared for! ?? #AdoptDontShop #RescueFish #OcellarisClownfishLove
