My Story

** I am currently being housed at our Oglethorpe St location. Come meet me at 71 Oglethorpe St NW, every day between 12pm-7pm. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. ***Turtles often benefit from the companionship of each other! ***Adopt one and HRA will waive the adoption fee for the second when adopted in pairs! Chachi is a good-sized red-eared turtle. She recently arrived at the shelter as her owner could not care for her anymore. Chachi is a bit underweight but is thriving with good meals. She is feeling much better but will need devoted adopters so that she gets proper care going forward. Chachi has been enjoying time swimming around in the turtle pond and getting good meals and exercise. She will need a proper turtle pond where she can continue to heal while getting better nutrition. Turtles like to eat dried fish, live goldfish, and mealworms. They also like shrimp and pellets. Turtles like to eat crickets and leafy greens and other veggies. They really enjoy and need a variety of foods! Red eared turtles can live to up to 40 years! These neat pets do have unique housing, dietary and set-up needs to live a long and healthy life.
