My Story

Intake date: 9/1/23 Status: Available Bradley is a 4 year old ball python who came to us very thin and undersized. Unfortunately, his owners were not feeding him enough and he was very stunted when he came in. Bradley has been eating consistently every week and is currently on F/T small rats, though he will also take chicks. He has a fantastic appetite and while he's a little nervous, he handles well. In our experience, stunted snakes do eventually reach full size with appropriate diets. His adoption fee is $50. Care sheet: https://bewildnc.org/ball-python/ **We do not recommend glass tanks/aquariums for ball pythons due to humidity and security issues. If you use a glass tank, you MUST cover up at least 75% of the screen top with plastic, plexiglass, or foil tape AND provide a lot of cover. Many ball pythons will require that 3 of the glass sides are covered with paper or a background if they are more nervous. Please check out our care guide for alternative housing methods--we highly recommend PVC cages and appropriate bin setups.** We do approve cages that are solid sided but have screen tops--they just MUST be modified. We've listed a few recommended cages below. Sterilite 200 quart latching tote Dubia.com (screen top--must cover) Zen Habitats (screen top--must cover) EcoFlex (screen top--must cover; available on Amazon/Chewy) Reptile Basics The Gorgon's Head Toad Ranch Reptile Kages Black Box Cages Animal Plastics PLEASE READ! If you are interested in adopting this animal, you need to fill out an application at https://bewildnc.org/apply/. Read the application carefully and answer the questions thoroughly.
