My Story

Atticus is a gulf coast box turtle who came into our care along with along with 8 other turtles from a transfer partner in Denver. 20+ turtles were surrendered from the same home where they were not receiving adequate care, and we will never know much of their histories as a result. This handsome boxie can be shy at first, but has blossomed into a confident turtle friend in our care. His left eye has minimal sight, but with some specialized eyedrops and proper husbandry, he isn't bothered at all by this! He is also very good with receiving his eyedrops and is a sweet boy. Atticus LOVES his earthworms! He enjoys being tong-fed his favorite earthworm snacks, which provides an excellent opportunity to bond with him. He also does great with eating a homemade box turtle diet for an easy pre-portioned meal. Atticus would thrive in a home where he can be housed with plenty of space and enrichment to explore.
