This handsome lizard is Admiral the Major Skink! Admiral was originally captive bred and born in Canada before making the journey south to Colorado.
Major skinks are omnivores and eat a varied diet of proteins, greens, and veggies. In Admiral’s case, canned cat food is his favorite food!
Admiral is about 7 inches long (minus his beautiful long tail!) and 3 years old. He has beautiful tan and orange coloring, as well as sharp, clever eyes. Admiral is very shy and prefers the comfort and privacy of his burrows and hides. He loves having substrate to dig and explore in, and would do great in a bioactive set-up!
Major Skinks are a unique species native to northeast Australia and parts of Australasia! This incredible species of skink loves to burrow and bask. Despite being shy by nature, these intelligent lizards can form social groups and are even known to mate for life in the wild.
