My Story

Meet little Snickers! He will soon be available for adoption or fostering. He is a small rabbit and only 3.5 lbs. Snickers is about 5 months old and was abandoned in a neighborhood in Decatur. He’s a Holland Lop and amazingly, he was found in Holland Drive, an area once owned by the Hollands family! Snickers is cute and sweet, and still recovering from surviving outside. He was rescued on July 16th. He was being kept alive by a Good Samaritan who fed him in her yard. Snickers is in the process of being neutered and vaccinated against RHDV2, and will soon have a record at one of our local vets. He has received treatment for ear mites and seed ticks, which were caused by his abandonment. Why do people dump bunnies?! Rabbits can live 10-12 years with good care and an indoor, safe living space! Rabbits need daily Timothy hay, nutritious pellets, greens/veggies, and a bowl of fresh water. Free-roaming or exercise pens work best! We do not recommend cages or hutches or outdoor housing. If you are interested in giving a bunny a loving forever home, please complete an adoption form here: www.huntsvillehouserabbits.com/adopt
