Shaymin

Shaymin is one of the "Amboy 22" bunnies: A woman had moved 22 rabbits into her kitchen and was in over her head. She was not able to house the bunnies appropriately or keep up with their daily care, so she called Kind Heart. With the help of our fosters and supporters, we have been able to bring all rabbits into our care. Shaymin is Mom to both S'mores and Mindy. She's about 2.5 years old and a tiny thing! She’s only about 3lbs! Prior to coming into Kind Heart's care in January, had lived her entire life either in a small shed outside with 20+ other rabbits or in a tiny dog crate with several other bunnies. During this time, Shaymin gave birth to at least one litter and despite the difficult circumstances, was a great mom. However, the stress of the cramped spaces took its toll - a notch in Shaymin’s ear shows that there were several fights among the rabbits while living in these difficult conditions and Shaymin didn’t have it easy! But Shaymin is safe and sound now in a foster home where she has a whole pen to herself! She's thriving now as she now understands that she'll never have to fight for food or space again. Although Shaymin had never even seen a litter box before, her foster mom reports that Shaymin quickly understood litter training - what a smart girl! Shaymin food motivated, so if you want to bond with her, offer her a bit of romaine or parsley and she'll be happy to stick around and be your friend! Shaymin is happy to be pet and loved on, but she’d rather not be picked up too often. She’d be happy to sit on your lap or by your side on the couch, enjoying all the attention you have to give! $175 includes Shaymin, (spayed and vaxxed), playpen, litter box, bowls, hay and pellets.
