My Story

This beautiful girl is a super soft Mini Rex, about six years old. We were told she needed to be surrendered as her hooman recently became physically unable to continue to care for her. Poor girl came in to the rescue with a broken toe, which had to be amputated, respiratory infection and cage aggression from being kept in a tiny cage for most of her life. It's time she receives the TLC she deserves. Sandy Cheeks should be evaluated by a vet to determine whether or not she should be spayed. In the meantime, we have been working with her to earn her trust and she has come a very long way. This sweet lil lady surely deserves the best FURever and ever home. Fill out the application and, once approved, we'll schedule a Meet 'n' Greet to see if you and your household might be a bunderful match. * Indoor Home Only * Bunnies live an average of 8-10 years, but could live up to 16 or even longer! While they do enjoy gentle pets and head rubs, bunnies generally do not like to be picked up or held as they are prey animals and it can be very scary for them. They also need lots of space to move around, run, binky and play - so no small hutches nor cages. They are social animals who want to be with you and should be accepted as part of the family. They also thrive best in bonded pairs, especially during the hours you are otherwise occupied. They need vet visits just like a dog or cat and will require a yearly vaccination against RHDV2. This is a highly contagious and deadly virus. All of our rabbits have received their first annual vaccines. Please do your research before adding any pet to your family. Visit rabbit.org for accurate, up-to-date bunny information. We are happy to answer any questions you may have before and after adoption, as well as assist in helping you decide whether bunnies are right for you. We offer ongoing support and encourage ongoing learning to ensure that you and your bunnies thrive. Please find a place in your heart and home for unwanted, discarded shelter animals. Thank you for adopting, not shopping!
