My Story

Ruby is one of the "Amboy 22" bunnies: A woman had moved 22 rabbits into her kitchen and was in over her head. She was not able to house the bunnies appropriately or keep up with their daily care, so she called Kind Heart. With the help of our fosters and supporters, we have been able to bring all but 2 rabbits into our care already. Ruby is Sapphire's sister and we believe also Simon's mom. She's about 2 years old and prior to coming into Kind Heart's care in January, had lived her entire life either in a small shed outside with 20+ other rabbits or in a tiny dog crate with several other bunnies. Luckily Ruby and Sapphire are both safe and sound with Kind Heart now. While Ruby and Sapphire are currently both in the same foster home, they are not bonded and have been separated since some of the photos. Ruby would be a great choice for an adopter looking for a "free roam" bunny. She currently has free roam of a bedroom and is very well behaved! She's doing well with her litter box training and can be trusted in a "bunny proofed" room. Ruby is affectionate towards people - especially if you come bringing pellets or greens. We love her adorable dewlap and check out her unique amethyst eyes! Ruby's current foster home does have dogs and while the dogs do not come in contact with her, we do know that a little barking doesn't phase her in the slightest! $175 includes Ruby, spayed and vaccinated, a playpen, litter box, bowls, hay and pellets.
