My Story

**This bunny is fully vaccinated for RHDV** Breed: Hotot mix. She has one black rimmed eye, and one white rimmed blue eye. Size: About 4 lbs DOB: About 1 year old as of June 2024 Reason in rescue: These sweet girls were owner surrendered after the owner could not medically take care of them anymore. Heidi had a long standing eye infection and neither of them had ever been spayed (which they are now). Personality: Petra came to us as a transfer from another shelter, one that unfortunately doesn’t spay females, so we wanted to get her here so she could have the surgery. Petra is a sweet girl but you can definitely tell that she didn’t have any positive experiences with humans prior to coming to us. When she first came she would run away from me in terror, almost to the point of hurting herself. She was very hormonal and would grunt and box at you. I have been working with her a ton and she is learning to trust me. She still will whimper and grunt at you at first but she has learned that she loves back rubs and will stretch herself out for them. She needs an adult only adopter that can continue to work with her and build trust. Once she knows you, she allows petting and will let you pick her up. She just needs someone to go is willing to love her and give her a chance! She’s very good with her litter box. Friends: She is a good candidate to be bonded to a neutered male. Requirements: Must be adopted as an indoor animal, with an as large as possible plastic bottomed cage or puppy pen (minimum 4' x 2' for a single, 4 x 4 for a pair). Adoption process: An adoption application must be filled out (http://www.judgespark.org/adoption-application.html), and approved by us. Then we will arrange a meeting time to see the animal of interest. A home visit is required prior to adoption (but can be waived if pictures or video are supplied of where the bunny will be living). Suggested adoption donation is $100 which includes her spay, vaccine, and microchip.
