Meet Dunkin and Donuts.
Sometimes we take in bunnies who are deeply loved, but their humans need a little extra help.
Dunkin (a mini rex) and Donuts (a lionhead) are 4 years old and blood sisters - even though they don’t look like it.
Their mom recently had a baby who, heartbreakingly, turned out to be extremely allergic to rabbits. The newborn's allergies were so severe that they had to return to the hospital.
After weeks of agonizing over what to do and trying numerous solutions, their mom made the hard decision to surrender both pairs of her bunnies to us, so that her baby could stay healthy. It was an incredibly difficult decision for her, but we know she did everything she could.
Dunkin and Donuts foster dad has been spending a lot of time sitting in their pen with them. The sisters start off a little timid, but warm up quickly and love head pets. We believe they’d prefer a quieter home, as they seem to enjoy the slower pace of their current foster home.
