My Story

These lovely small chocolate girls were originally from a hoarding case and we suspect they are sisters or mom and daughter. Estimated age is around 4 years old, so they have well established personalities and are a solid pair, having been bonded their whole lives. You will find poops and the occasional accident outside the litter box, simply because of their background, but they do improve as they relax into a household routine. Droste and Divine will take some time to warm up and can find noises scary. Some dedicated patience and their love of soft music will help them adjust. Both girls are food driven with favorite treats being raisins, bananas, and the large science select pellets. Neither one is a jumper (their current pen is 24 inches high!) but they do love places to hide and tunnels to run through. The girls are very typical rabbits in that they are most active in the evenings and overnight, great for the typical 9-5 work schedule! Divine tends to be more worried about the world but also loves attention, pets, and company. Droste will take some special consideration and she has made lots of progress but is still vocal and tends to speak with her paw. She does like company and being talked to and has started accepting some pets while next to her sister. Droste will give you some lovely binkies and popcorns once she is comfortable and Divine is fond of head shakes and short zoomies to show appreciation. These girls would love a quiet household that likes to hang out in the evenings, enjoys music, and conversation. Other mild-mannered pets might be ok as long as they have a space to themselves. This pair is great for older teens or adults. The first step in our adoption process is to fill out our on-line adoption application at the following link. You must be at least 18 to adopt from us. http://rabbitsinthehouse.org/?page_id=145 The application is not a commitment to adopt. It’s just a place to start: to let us know you are interested, to give us some information to properly advise you, and to help us keep track of people who have contacted us about adoption. The questions are designed so that we have consistent information from each adopter. Sometimes just emailing back and forth or talking on the phone we might forget to ask something. The form has been a big help and time saver for us.
