My Story

Meet Pickleball, aka Pickle, a hilarious rabbit who will keep you laughing with his quirks. Pickleball was recently in a foster home, and here's what they had to say about him: "Pickleball loves to lounge - he's decided the best (and coolest) place to be is on the tile floor behind the toilet in the bathroom! The hallway is his domain, and he loves to run up and down in the mornings and evenings. He has been known to binky (not Olympic level but still joyful) and loves loves loves to roll his treat ball around - we put his pellets in there and he finds it very entertaining. He loves his cardboard box that we got for him to dig in but he lounges in it. He's very much his own bunny. He comes when he likes, though he is very food motivated, and we have been working on clicker training him to get him to 'come.' He seems very bright and recognizes rhythms in the day. Shockingly he doesn't seem interested in gnawing on the baseboards, which is a plus! When it's time to relax, he's ready to be pet and will allow you to do a "full body pet from the top of his nose down to his tail. Pickleball's favorite thing to eat at the moment is a compressed hay cube snack, which he can make quick work of. He's very friendly and affectionate and is so confident he's not bothered by the vacuum or other loud noises. He is OK with being picked up and doesn't struggle. He will let us hold him and watch TV. He also likes to hide in boxes or behind a toilet. Pickleball is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated against RHDV2 (vaccine needs to be administered annually). House Rabbit Society recommends all rabbits see a rabbit-savvy veterinarian once a year. Submit an adoption application for Pickleball at center.houserabbit.org. House Rabbit Society is located in Richmond, California, just north of San Francisco. Questions? Email [email protected] and we'll be happy to talk more with you!
