Miss America is our recent intake who had maggots crawling in and out of her.
She lived in a barn and had terrible, chronic, diarrhea for the majority of her 7 years. With the heat, summer, and flies, maggots were inevitable and consistently found their way onto her.
We brought her into our program as an emergency case and she is LOVING being indoors after 7 years of outdoor life!
Part of Miss Americas messy bum was due to a recessed vulva, so she has skin folds over her privates where feces get trapped. She just had a vulvaplasty and has recovered well.
She is so sweet and loves her foster mom. Also her foster mom’s bed. Also her foster mom’s blanket. It’s Miss Americas bed now.
