My Story

In September 2023, a good Samaritan notified Penny & Wild of a pair of rabbits that showed up one day outside of their apartment building. We were able to catch Jay and a day later his friend Sparrow (who was adopted in March 2023). They were not bonded and hopefully Jay finds a forever home of his own soon! Jay is estimated to be around 2-3 years old, he is neutered and IMMACULATE with his litter habits. This bun never misses the litter box! His fosters have described him as goofy, curious and bold. He is very much like a puppy, in that his ears and paws are just a little big too big for his body (but he is fully grown at 4.5lb) and he has lots of playful energy. In his foster homes Jay has met kids that he's greeted fearlessly, cats that he has tried to befriend (though sadly they did not feel the same), and dogs that he has been curious but wary of. Jay is happiest when free roaming and hoping around doing zoomies on the couch. He hasn't shown any interest in chewing baseboards but has a tendency to try to nibble on things that are made of rubber (grooming gloves are his nemesis) and plastic. His ideal home would allow him to free roam all, or most, of the time and might have a small dog, cat or rabbit friend for him to play with but he's also happy alone if you are home most of the day. If you lay on the floor, Jay will hop all over you. He is high energy so he's more interested in exploring than napping, but once he is done adventuring he'll come check if you have any food to exchange for petting privileges. Jay is VERY food motivated so the way to his heart is hand feeding him snacks and rubbing his ears. He'll even get on your lap to if the price is right. Jay is looking for a foster or forever home. Reach out if you'd like to meet him! https://pennyandwild.org/adopt/rabbits/adoption-application/
