My Story

You won’t forget these bunnies. Meet Jan Gogh and Bunardo da Vinci, a sweet rescue pair who was saved after being dumped in a south Huntsville neighborhood. Bunardo (gray) is missing both ears. Jan (white) is missing one ear. Jan was pregnant when rescued and gave birth to a litter of 7 on March 24th, 2024, and 4 survived: two sons and two daughters. In the photo with her babies, Jan proudly shows off babies Rembrandt, Picasso, Cassatt (now Anna), and Kahlo (now Elsa). Both Bunardo and Jan are very friendly and cuddly bunnies. Bunardo has even been on TV! He helped us for a WAFF 48 News broadcast in March 2024! Both bunnies are spayed/neutered and vaccinated against RHDV2, and have a record at Countryside Veterinary Hospital. They are in very good health currently. Jan and Bunardo were closely bonded when they were rescued. A loving couple was feeding them and probably saved their lives. The bunnies liked to hide under their front porch for safety. We would love to keep them together. Rabbits can live 10-12 years with good care and an indoor, safe living space! Rabbits need daily Timothy hay, nutritious pellets, greens/veggies, and a bowl of fresh water. Free-roaming or exercise pens work best! We do not recommend cages or hutches or outdoor housing.
