My Story
Hi there! I'm Coconut, and I'm glad to meet you! Although I may be a bit shy at first, once I get to know you, I can't resist coming over to check you out.
I'm getting more comfortable with being petted, but please stick to my back and avoid my head. I especially enjoy it when I'm eating a treat. Just because I have preferences doesn't mean I don't like attention! I enjoy checking in with my foster mom to see what she's doing, and sometimes I'll lie down next to her if I'm not busy exploring.
Loud noises and sudden movements tend to startle me. It could be because I was found outside as a stray bunny and had to fend for myself. I LOVE getting enrichment with food! A cardboard cyl
inder filled with hay will keep my attention. And treat puzzles? I'm a pro - j
ust put one in front of me, and I'll happily uncover all the yummy raisins hidden inside.
My daily routine is pretty straightforward and flexible - pellets for breakfast and dinner, timothy hay throughout, and a salad with a slice of banana at the end of the day. Be sure you're not late with my breakfast pellets, though! I will start rattling my ex-pen to help you remember.
While I may not be too keen on being petted, I do enjoy having your company around. I love being around my humans and having my time to explore. During my run time, you'll find me exploring and investigating everything around me. Make sure my area is bunny proofed in case I decide to do my own redecorating or find some shoes! Oh, and if you happen to be lying down, don't be surprised if I decide to take a stroll on your back. I'm always curious and like to check things out, although you probably won't catch me doing any crazy zoomies or binkies.
When it comes to the litter box, I'm a pro. And brushing? I'm not too high maintenance - only about once a week keeps me looking sharp, and a little more when I'm shedding. If you ever need to pick me up, I'll tolerate it without too much of a fuss though having all four feet on the ground is always the best.
As for my interactions with other animals or children, well, that's still a bit of a mystery. I haven't had the chance to meet any yet, but who knows? I might just surprise you! Foster mom is unsure how I would do with a bonded companion, but it may be worth a try.
So that's me, Coconut, your friendly, treat-loving, curious bunny who's ready to hop into your heart and home!

RRMN bunnies are all vetted, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. All bunnies are fostered in private homes where they are socialized and ready to become indoor companion house pets. RRMN is a non-profit rescue group operated 100% by volunteers, and 100% of donations/adoption fees go to the direct care of our animals. Due to their very special behavioral needs, we do not advocate for our rescue rabbits to serve as Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). We are unable to provide any documentation or certification for an ESA.
If you have any questions or are interested in meeting or adopting this bunny, the first step is to complete an adoption application found on our website: http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com. For the safety of our rescue bunnies, our protocol requires a home-visit before placement. Therefore, we are unable to facilitate adoptions that exceed an hour and a half of travel time from the Twin Cities area.
