Chickie

Chickie is a little Netherland Dwarf but we affectionately call her "spunky and chunky"! Chickie was surrendered to us by a woman who was keeping her outside with her chickens in a coop. The chickens were ganging up on the poor bunny and she was being pecked and injured. We kindly suggested to the woman that bringing the bunny inside would solve all the problems however when it became very clear that she wasn't willing to do that, we made space for Chickie. When Chickie was dropped off, we also learned that prior to her time being terrorized by chickens, Chickie was used as entertainment at a child's birthday party and then given away as a "party favor". Our heart broke for all she's endured. Chickie is about 3 years old and has beautiful Harlequin coloring. Pretty rare for a Netherland Dwarf! Chickie has been through a lot and needs an experienced bunny parent who understands her that she can be a bit defensive and protective of herself. She likes to be pet in specific ways and absolutely covets her hidey house. (Ask us about the time we were cleaning out her pen and accidentally put the wrong hidey house back in for her. She was not amused! LOL) Before coming to Kind Heart, Chickie was eating chicken feed and lots of it. While we're grateful she didn't suffer any lasting GI effects from it, she is on the chunkier side and is currently on a diet. Chickie has IMPECCABLE litter habits. Seriously one of the cleanest bunnies we have ever seen. She'll even clean up our mess if we drop a little hay outside her litter box. After years of living in a yucky coop, Chickie likes her environment clean and in order. $200 includes Chickie, spayed and vaccinated, X-pen/playpen, hay, pellets, litter box, litter and bowls.
