My Story

Must adopt with bond mate, Frito Hi there! I'm CHEETO, the adventurous bunny who can hardly wait to find my furever home! My journey began on a chilly January day when I was found roaming outside with my inseparable bond mate, Frito. We share an unbreakable connection and love to snuggle and groom each other - it's our way of reminding each other that we're a team and so we must be adopted together. When you come home, you'll find me eagerly waiting at the edge of my pen, ready to say hello. Once I know you're a friend, I'll be the first to greet you and subtly remind you that treats are a must! It might take me a little time to warm up to new faces, but once I sense kindness, I'm all in for treats and head scratches. My early days under a car in the freezing cold took me a little while to learn that not all humans are bad, and now I enjoy being petted. While I might need some supervision during free roam (we have a tendency to chew cords if left unsupervised), I'm incredibly adventurous. Tunnels are my absolute favorite, and exploring new places is my specialty. Frito and I adore cardboard boxes - perfect for hiding and sleeping on top of to keep an eye on everything in our enclosure. We're explorers at heart, with a penchant for finding new hiding spots and climbing around on anything we haven't seen before. Our energy is boundless, especially during free roam time, but once we're done, we love nothing more than snuggling up together on our cozy blanket for a well-deserved snooze. Maintaining cleanliness is a priority for me - exceptional litter box habits ensure there are no surprises outside my box. My soft coat regular weekly brushing, but overall, it's low maintenance. When it comes to toys, we're big fans of chew toys like willow branches and Snak Shack huts. Cardboard in our pen doesn't stand a chance! Food-wise, we're not picky eaters. Veggies, especially cilantro and parsley, are our favorites, and salads and bananas make our bunny hearts skip a beat. Oxbow rabbit pellets are our go-to. I'm the more likely of the duo to enjoy being held; gentle head scratches and lap time are my jam. Although we're not overly cuddly, once we warm up to you, we'll gladly accept your affection. Our foster mom notes that we're a bit sensitive to loud noises and quick movements, so she keeps a white noise machine playing calming spa sounds to create a peaceful environment in our room. We did well with our former foster mom's older daughter, and with some time to adjust, we're confident we'll thrive in any loving home. While we haven't been around many other animals, the cat we have been around did not scare us. We were more curious of her than being scared. Our foster mom thinks we're not easily spooked except possibly by large dogs. Life, to Frito and me, is an obstacle course filled with fun and laughter. All bunnies are fostered in private homes where they are socialized and ready to become indoor companion house pets. RRMN is a non-profit rescue group operated 100% by volunteers, and 100% of donations/adoption fees go to the direct care of our animals. Due to their very special behavioral needs, we do not advocate for our rescue rabbits to serve as Emotional Support Animals (ESAs). We are unable to provide any documentation or certification for an ESA. If you have any questions or are interested in meeting or adopting this bunny, the first step is to complete an adoption application found on our website: http://www.rabbitrescueofmn.com. For the safety of our rescue bunnies, our protocol requires a home-visit before placement. Therefore, we are unable to facilitate adoptions that exceed an hour and a half of travel time from the Twin Cities area.
