My Story

Auburn came to us from someone who had way too many rabbits. When he first got here he was pretty shy. But slowly he's been coming out of his shell. We thought he would enjoy being in a foster home and he has. Here's what his foster family tells us about him: Auburn settled in pretty quickly but he's still not so sure about us. But that's ok. We are being patient and soft with him and he's getting more confident every day. He's very curious and quick to explore new places. Within a day or two he was laying on his side with us close by. He really likes Bamboo chew sticks. Auburn is funny with his other toys - if you hand him one, he often just throws it off to the side (sometimes into his water!) and he does NOT want any toys in his box hide - they will get promptly pushed out. He's very good about using his litter box and overall he's just a real sweetheart. Auburn would do best in a home with just adults or with very calm, patient older children. And we started target training him to "boop" my finger! He's caught on quickly for snacks and prefers celery, collards and endive.Marin Humane rabbits are companion house rabbits. They live indoors only and cage free- living in a 16+ square foot pen or free-roam in the home. This lets them live much longer, happier lives! Indoor rabbits can live 12+ years and require a lot of time and commitment. In return they offer years of love and companionship!
