CURRENT RIDER LEVEL: Intermediate Willow is a 2011 Tennessee walking horse mare who stands at 15 hands tall and weighs 894lbs. Willow is a quiet mare with good stall manners. She has not been turned out with other horses since her arrival here at the rescue because she is currently shod on all 4 hooves with road shoes. The shoes will be removed the next time the farrier is here. She has good hooves and we believe she will be comfortable and sound barefooted. Willow stands quietly tied for grooming and tacking but she can be a little nervous with mounting. Under saddle, Willow easy to stop, turn, and back up, however she is sensitive and responsive to leg pressure. She is also nervous and responsive to her riders hand moments and balance. Willow has a true 4 beat gait that is easy and comfortable to ride. She is a forward mover and prefers a quiet rider to let her move out. Willow is most comfortable out on the trails where she is a confident leader. Willow would be best matched with an intermediate rider who wants a forward trail partner!
