My Story

CURRENT RIDER LEVEL: Confident Beginner Thumper is a 1997 Quarter Horse X Mustang gelding who stands 15.1 hands tall and weighs 936lbs. Thumper came in severely emaciated with bad skin, weighing only 654lbs. Having gained almost 300lbs back, he has sense recovered nicely and is enjoying being turned out with a mixed heard of mares and geldings. Thumper can be pushy when leading and will get impatient standing tied for too long. He stands to be groomed and tacked and he rides best in a hackamore. Under saddle, Thumper has a forward walk and very smooth jog, he can canter but he lacks conditioning. He will take advantage of someone inexperienced by going to stand by the gait, but he is easily corrected. Thumper enjoys rides around the farm. He will lead the way or follow behind. Thumper would be best matched with a confident beginner who enjoys trail riding.
