Ruby Sunrise

April 8th update: SaveTheHorses rescue farm took in the very frightened mare. She may have gone to several auctions and she may have trusted people at one time in her life, but she learned that’s not good to rely on humans. She came in with this ratty halter on her face with rope hanging off of it. We really wanted to get the halter off of her. It’s time you have to decide grab the halter and hold on to her? Will she stand still and be held or will she try to run away once the pressure is on the halter? We’ve been very slow and kind to her . When we first brought her and she would not make eye contact at all, if you looked at her, she would turn the other way. She’s so much better now, but she still had that halter on and it was starting to break away. One time she had it over one ear and we thought for sure it would fall off, but she went and rubbed her head and put it back on. But now hallelujah, she got it off herself. She goes from the ring to her stall to her little outside area very willingly. I’m glad we didn’t force her with mistrust, we patiently waited. The volunteers spend time talking to her, and keeping her very calm and trusting. She’s still a little thin, and she will need a very patient person to adopt her and give her like she deserves. If anyone has time to come out and spend time with her, please let me know.
