My Story

Pony mare / Pinto / 17 yrs / 10 h Robin is a mini mare, approximately 17 years old, is currently located at Horses with Hope in Maine for training from Gerda’s Equine Rescue. Robin arrived to us in early March 2023, about 9 months after being rescued from a killpen in Texas. At purchase, she had an unweaned 2.5 year old colt named Sparrow, who was also rescued by Gerda’s. Sparrow was weaned and we began her training. Robin presented as tense and fearful of human interaction– particularly touch– upon her arrival at Horses with Hope. They have been working slowly to build her trust, which is allowing then to help her with a lot of her muscle tension via bodywork. Under all of that tension, she seems to be as smart and sweet as they come! Health and Care: Robin is an easy keeper with no medical needs or dietary restrictions. Suitable For: Robin is such a sweet and forgiving mare and would make a wonderful companion, she especially loves donkeys. Someone that is looking to build a relationship and doesn’t mind working on trust first, could have an amazing little pony. Enjoys: She loves treats and we have found them to be a useful tool to use as a reward during training sessions. Adoption Price: $900
