My Story

Meet Pat! Pat is a retired working horse looking for his retirement home. He’s a great boy and is looking for a home that he can live out the rest of his years. Pat stands about 17 hands (though he's a little cresty at the withers and doesn't present any taller than the 16.1 hand horses on the farm. Belgian gelding. About 1300 lbs. Age unknown, but we believe him to be 30-35 years old. He has had many minor colics in his life, but has consistently responded well to injectable Banamine. Pat might be up for some low key riding with a small person, but avoid putting full-sized adults on him. He would probably be great for someone who wanted to do a little mellow cart driving. At his age he’s done pulling heavy loads, so no loaded wagon rides uphill or anything like that. He’s been given a variety of supplements to support his health including: Dr. Benson's TNS minerals as a general mineral and ProBios to support his gut health and prevent colic. Vitamin E and Selenium for his skin and coat health. Glucosamine and Condroitin for joint health. All of these supplements seem to have helped and continue to help him. His owner said he is the most mellow, relaxed horse they’ve ever had. He’s lived with his friend Gus and they’ve worked side by side for years so they are able to go to the same home but are also okay being separated.
