My Story

MAGGIE is a blind strawberry/grey Appaloosa mare. She stands 15HH. Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary pulled Maggie from a kill lot in Oklahoma. At the time, she was listed as pregnant, however, that turned out not to be the case. Maggie is a sweet, kind girl that loves attention. Though her lack of sight can make her very nervous in new settings or when faced with new tasks, we have faith in her ability to blossom into a wonderful partner for a committed adopter! We are not sure of her age; she was listed as an adult at auction, but after a dental exam, our vets feel she is likely between 4 and 7! It is very possible Maggie has had some training in her past, perhaps before she started to go blind. Though, as we know well, blind horses can make fantastic riding partners!! Maggie is available for adoption with an adoption fee of $500 to an approved applicant. Adoption application can be found on our website, www.rescuehorses.org, under the "Get Forms" tab, or paste the following link in your browser: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8pmUDhryVQTX2d5MklaQmFCRGc/view **PLEASE NOTE: We must receive a completed adoption application with $15 underwriting fee before setting up any meetings outside of our regular visitors' days, which are normally the first Sunday of the month from 2 to 4 pm.
