My Story

Luna will be participating in the 2024 Dakota Showdown Horse Trainer Challenge and available for adoption via auction to approved adopters on August 25, 2024. Learn more and apply to adopt at http://dakotashowdown.com She is very athletic, independent and smart. Luna leads quietly, stands well for the farrier, loads onto a trailer, and ties quietly. She has worked on yielding her hind quarters and front, back up on the ground and has started on lunging. Luna has had a saddle on but has not been backed as of yet. Luna does very well when she is caught regularly, but can be stubborn about being caught if she is left to her own devices. Luna would be an adorable small riding horse or driving horse with the right training. Luna is from the International Society for the Protection of Mustangs and Burros, and came to GSH in December of 2016 during a crisis at ISPMB involving county impoundment and seizure, overcrowding and lack of resources.
