My Story

********This horse is part of a special training event called the Appalachian Trainer Face Off (see below) In Training with: Amy Parsley at SouthernHorsemanship in Versailles, KY with Kalani QH type Mare 4 years old 14.3hh est All Diamond horses were unstarted at the end of April but could lead and are getting 110+ days of professional training before competition and adoption! Top qualities: She’s athletic Wants to work A little love bug (although she’ll try to hid it at first) And did I mention pretty good looking? This mare is full of personality and has a strong work ethic. She is a naturally forward horse and enjoying learning. She’s willing to give anything you put in front of her a try. Kalani’s training has consisted of a lot of ground work preparing her for ridden work and some liberty training! So far in summer school she’s learned the following: * Standing tied * Trailering * Bathing * Fly spray * Lunging * Disengaging hips * Moving Shoulders * Backing up (3 different ways) * Accepts a bit * Bit work * Long lining * Saddling * Hip control * Shoulder control * Liberty circles * Leading by the feet * Working over tarp * Ponying off the mule Learn about how to adopt and the event at https://www.appalachiantrainerfaceoff.com/adopt ********This horse is part of a special training event called the Appalachian Trainer Face Off. You can learn about it on Facebook and on our website. Horses in this training event are adoptable following 100+ days of training in August. Adoption fees may be outdated, as a horse may have moved into training, so check us on most current fee. Horses typically adopted UTD on vaccines, dental floats, farrier care and all vet needs. Horse Locations Typically in Appalachia, but please inquire about a horse's specific location when you apply! We are looking to adopt to safe homes. A history of good horsemanship, the ability to provide sufficient care with good vet, farrier and peer references are important. If you are a first time horse owner, we will require you to board at a facility for the first year while you learn more about care. We encourage everyone to take advantage of riding lessons. Foal adoptions require previous, established experience with youngsters. Our adoption process makes sure you get the right horse for you – it is a no fail process for finding the right match.
