Helen was saved from a kill pen 2 years ago. She lived in Amish country. She was a work horse, probably an overworked horse, for sure. When she arrived, she told use through her body language she had no use for humans. She may have gone through several auctions being pushed around, maybe prodded to move from place to place. We were patient and took care of her needs for 2 years but...she still has little to no use for humans. We feed her, give her treats which she happily takes then she was us to go away.. I believe there is someone out there who would love to let her live her life out in your pasture. She is in her 20's. She has been living at our quarantine pasture for 2 years without a human of her own.
I am foolish for thinking there are special horse lovers out there? I say, 'No', we have adopted out many horses that anyone would call unadoptable, but a loving heart opens, and a gentle home comes along. I am praying for this to happen for Helen.
