Fancy

5/20/24 update Fancy is officially a puppy dog! Fancy went to a foster home to have more one on one attention as the rescue atmosphere had to much going on for her. She now follows her foster family around and loves attention. She can be tied, loaded, and is great for the farrier and vet. Fancy requires someone with a lot of time as she thrives off of attention. She will require someone with experience to take her to the next level (under saddle). *Please note this horse was wild for 10 years of her life, she is now 11 years old. She is not trained to ride. She is just fully gentled meaning easy to catch, halter, lead, picks her feed, can be stalled, and good for the vet. Message from her trainer who gentled her Ok mustang lovers, this is from the heart. Fancy has been the absolute hardest mustang I've ever gentled but by far the most rewarding. Every time I thought we were progressing she would fall backwards, there were times when I thought it wouldn't happen, BUT, as promised (in my previous write up), once she decided to trust, she was just amazing, and we are now fast friends. Fancy is ready for a new partner. She will need an experienced horse person as she looks to you for support. Yesterday I took Fancy on her first outing outside of any fencing.... what I thought would be a quick experiment turned into an hour hike in the woods. She was amazing!!! Over logs and big rocks, thru thick brush, even prickers and she never hesitated. At one point she saw something of interest in the distance, faced it and snorted but never left me. Fancy is the easiest book to read, if she's scared, she shows you if she's mad you know it and if she's happy or relaxed it's just obvious. She listens for you to reassure her and when she learns something it's perfection. She has gone from being a horse that had no interest in me whatsoever staying as far away as possible to a horse that waits for me at the gate and nickers.
